Yash Sahijwani

I'm a software developer with experience in Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Reinforcement Learning and Robotics. Currently, I'm pursuing my Bachelors of Technology in Electronics Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi. I'm passionate about my work, which is why I hope to continue doing this for the rest of my life! 😎

Work

I've been part of some very interesting teams and have worked on some really amazing projects. Here are some details of the projects of which I've been a part.

Internships

Wells Fargo

I've accepted an offer to work as an Analyst intern @ Wells Fargo in the summer of 2022, and look forward to working there.

ImagoAI

I worked at ImagoAI as an ML Intern from Nov. 2021 - Feb. 2022. There I worked on different Machine Learning and Computer Vision based projects, which required me to have an indepth knowledge about the different state-of-the-art Machine Learning algorithms as well as read several interesting papers in the field of Hyperspectral Imaging. I also contributed to the company's property prediction algorithms directly from the Hyperspectral images of different fruits and vegetables. Overall, it was a pretty enriching experience getting to learn good software development practices and ML techniques as well as exposure to working in a fast-paced startup.

Projects

1. Intelligent Picking: ware house automation

From July 2020 to January 2021, this was a project which was developed as part of the Flipkart Grid 2.0 Robotics Challenge where our team (Raghav Soni, Ayush Kumar Shaw, Niranth Sai, Lokesh Krishna, Yash Sahijwani) reached the National Finals.
The learning opportunities were tremendeous throughout the course of this competition, which involved working on Computer Vision, Deep Learning and it's integration with Robotics.

2. Deep RL based controller for BalanceBot

In January 2021, I along with Karan Singh Khati started working on our exploratory project, under Dr. Sanjeev Sharma , Assistant Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT (BHU), Varanasi.
The project was focused on developing a robust controller for self balancing and locomotion of a 2 wheeled balancebot, by using Deep Reinforcement Learning methods.

3. Captcha Solver

In April 2020 , I worked alongside Ayush Kumar Shaw and Raghav Soni to develop a Captcha Solver based on Computer Vision and Deep learning, as part of the event Mosaic'20, conducted under Udyam, the annual technical fest of the Department of Electronics Engineering, IIT BHU, where we secured the 1st position.
The project involved development of a system capable of recognizing and solving black and white captchas, with some amount of noise in the form of lines, and dots. GitHub

Skills

I would describe myself as a person with decent technical skills. I've been trying to gain skills from the start of my undergrad in the field of Software Development, especially in the fields of AI and Robotics. I have listed some of my skills below.

Programming Languages

  • C++
  • Python
  • C

Programming Skills

  • Robotics
  • Machine Learning (ML)
  • Deep Learning (DL)
  • Computer Vision (CV)
  • Reinforcement Learning (RL)
  • Object Oriented Programming (OOPs)
  • Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA)
  • Competitve Programming (CP)

Frameworks

  • Keras
  • Tensorflow
  • PyBullet
  • PyTorch Geometric

Hobbies

When I'm not programming, I take a lot of interest in sports, especially football. I'm an fan and avid supporter of Real Madridâš½. Apart from that, I occasionally binge-watch TV series, and critically acclaimed movies.

Extra-Curricular

I like to explore and work on different extra curricular activities.
Here are some of my extra curriculars and some of the Positions of Responsibilites I've held at IIT BHU:

  • Secretary, Robotics Club, IIT BHU
  • Member, IG Group (COPS), IIT BHU
  • Coordinator at Udyam, EES, IIT BHU

Taking up positions of responsibilites, especially the Secretary of the Robotics Club, has helped me in developing my management skills by understanding how to manage a large group of people and conduct events, activities and workshops for all incoming freshers and sophomores.
